FAQ's

How do I know what type of flue I have got?
The flue type is important when choosing a gas fire. Electric fires do not require a flue. Take a look on the roof of your house and use the checklist below to see which flue matches yours. Of course if you are looking at a flueless fire, you do not need to worry, you just need a gas supply for your gas fire to connect to.

Class I
A classic brick built chimney. Nearly all gas should fit this type of flue.

Class II
Also known as a pre-fabricated flue. These can vary in size so you should check the indivdual fires depth with your exact measurements.

Pre-Cast
Often shown by a raised ridge tile on the roof of the house, also known as a slimline flue as only slimline fire will fit these.

No Chimney or Flue
This will require either a flueless fire, powerflue or balanced flue gas fire, this will depend on the availability to install one of these in your house.

How are your Cultured Stone Fireplaces made?
Our Stone Fireplaces are each made to order by specialist craftsman at a purpose built factory in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

Does my fire require specialist installation?
For all our electric fires and stone fireplaces, a little bit of DIY handywork is all that is usually required. We recommend that if you are running fuse spurs from existing points, that this work is done by a qualified electrician. It is a legal requirement for gas fires to be fitted by a Gas Safe Register installer, stonebridge fireplaces is a Gas Safe Register registered installer and we are happy to provide a fitting service in and around the Nottingham area. Please telephone for approximate costs on 0115 9852828. Unfortunately we cannot accept responsibilty for any damage caused by incorrect installation and failure to register gas appliances with Corgi will invalidate any warranty.

I don't like paying for goods over the internet, is there another way to pay?
We welcome orders by telephone or in person as well during daytime office hours (9am-5pm Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm Sat and 12pm-4pm Sun). If you would prefer to pay by cash or cheque (allow 7 days for clearance of cheques before collecting goods) 3you can pay when you collect your order by calling into one of our large showrooms based in the East Midlands. We can also take payment over the phone if you would still like to use your card. However, you can rest assured that it is safe to pay onlineover our website. I am looking at a fireplace in your bargain basement, does the reduction mean its damaged?
Most of our bargainbasement stock is simply stock overflow that we need to clear. There are some products that have been on disply in one of our showrooms; indictaed by 'display' in the listing. If a product is display and is showing any signs of damage or wear and tear, we will indicate this clearly. 'Display' items in this category are also on sale in one of our 2 large showrooms so may be removed at any time.

I have recieved my fire and realised it is not suitable for what I require, what can I do?
We cannot accept responsibilty for goods incorrectly ordered. If you wish to return an item that was incorrectly ordered there will be a restocking charge of 30% and a collection fee (£20 on a fire, £50 on a fireplace). You may return the goods in person to our showroom to avoid the collection fee. All returns must be in original packaging and proof of purchase may be required if returning in person.
